We’ve finalised the programme for the User Group Event on 1 March 2017 at City, University of London.  It should be a varied and interesting day with lots of opportunity to ask questions, learn from one another and think about how to make the best of using Poll Everywhere in education.

There are still a few places available.  Bookings can be made online, and closes at midday on Friday 24 Feb.

Programme

10.00 – 10.30  Arrival, registration and refreshments

10.30 – 10.35  Welcome and Housekeeping

10.35 – 10.45  Icebreaker: Competitive quiz using Poll Ev’s segmentation feature

10.45 – 12.15  Presentations and discussion

Using think-pair share and Poll Everywhere to enhance engagement during lectures, Alfred Thumser (Lecturer in Biosciences, University of Surrey)

Five years of Poll Everywhere at Westminster: The impact on staff and students, Ade Bamigbade & Yanna Nedelcheva (University of Westminster)

Tips on using Poll Everywhere to enhance student learning for technology based topics in Radiography Jayne Morgan (Senior Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography, City, University of London)

Supporting students in revision sessions, Yanna Nedelcheva & Maria Ashioti (University of Westminster)

Location

The User Group is being hosted at City, University of London’s Main campus – Northampton Square. Please see https://www.city.ac.uk/visit#0=1 for travel information. Please use the Main Entrance in Northampton Square. There will be signage to the registration room – C320 – and there are detailed instructions below.

  1. Enter the University Building from the new entrance facing Northampton Square
  2. Go to the first floor using the main staircase/lift near reception
  3. Turn left at the top of the stairs and at the end of the corridor open the door to the stairwell/lift on your right
  4. Go to the third floor and turn left – continue walking until you reach C320
